about

Hey guys. So a few words about this album. Hidden Triangles is a short compilation of several projects I have started over the years but never quite finished. "Above it All" was written by Craig Twedell, a talented trumpet player I found on Myspace (How old is that!). The entire song is recorded with live instruments. It sounds amazing but sadly will probably be the LAST time I ever fool with live musicans. "Incident At The Rose Cafe" and "This is Hip Hop Baby" are two instrumentals I recorded for a project called "Rise of the Trophy Kids". On "Rose Cafe" the beat I used was from a song my old group, Skyscraper Stereo used to perform. Due to group arguing, the song never was recorded or released. So when I asked, "What happened to that beat" I was told "Take the damn thing". Well I took the damn thing and cut in some samples from Batman the Animated series. "Summer Breeze" was a track I thought up last winter driving to work. I love the original "Summer Breeze" track by Seals and Croft and luckily DJ Woo is such an awesome producer, he looped it just right. This was right around the time I left Skyscraper, so instead of featuring Goodbar and Landry on it like I had originally thought, I decided to make it a Black Pelican project instead. "Martin Luther King Day" and "Black Friday" are also Black Pelican joints featuring our lead MC Terrance or F.N.M.C. (Friendly Neighboorhood Master of Ceremonies) as he's known. "Exhibit D" features one of my favorite rappers (Dat Boi Dunn) over one of my favorite beats and was recorded in my Skyscraper days. Lastly "River City Ransom (Smooth Remix)" was part of a Skyscraper Stereo Remix album I was working on shortly before I left the group. So yeah, there is the backstory on the tracks. Most of them have sit on my computer for years, unheard by most. Discovering Bandcamp motivated me to put them out, so here ya go. There are several cuts that I left off here but yes, there will be a sequel as I have enough music to ALREADY make a part 2. Mayber I'll toss that to you next fall. Who knows what I'll record between now and then.
